Deep Blue Coral Sea Coral Sea Dreaming could have simply transformed the TV screen into a fish tank. Instead, it gives due respect to some of the most unusual, colorful and fascinating aquatic life in and around Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The fluid movements of the reef's various creatures, corals and plant life--which are all identified when the subtitles are on--will lower viewers' pulses while freeing up their minds. A loop mode is available for continuous play, and five extra segments with footage of "surfing" dolphins, sea lions, oceanscapes and more can be viewed individually or one after the other. Video is of the highest quality--almost three-dimensional at times--and the 5.1-channel New Age/jazz music track is the perfect accompaniment. If only it were shot in widescreen, the illusion of swimming with the fishes would be complete on a 16:9 television in a darkened room. DVD-ROM content comprises Web links for screen savers and a site dedicated to preserving the reef. This is a beautiful, fascinating, and tranquilizing disc. --G.F. |

If you haven't had the chance to experience the amazing undersea world of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, check out the gorgeous Coral Sea Dreaming Special Edition. Emmy Award-winning cinematographer David Hannan shot the remarkable underwater footage, which brings the viewer face to face with the various corals and the exotic, colorful fish and shrimp that inhabit the reef. | I used to have several coral reef and fish tanks, getting too old to perform the required maintenance. Purchased a home theatre system and intended to display reef and fish videos during non viewing time. My first DVD acquisition was AQUARIA. This DVD prompted me to write to the Humane and Conservation societies. That video was atrocious. However, when I received CORAL SEA DREAMING, I was very pleasantly surprised. Viewing this DVD eight (8) times now I see something different every time. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I get the sense that the Photographer/Producer/Editor spent some time studying this subject. This DVD is very professionally assembled, from the video to the sound. Thank you, Mr. David Hannan, for this wonderful view of this very small and endangered part of our world. I intend to give this DVD as a gift to everyone I know this Christmas. --Andreas von Muldau | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| I've just received my copy of the "Coral Sea Dreaming" DVD and must say that this is absolutely the best underwater DVD I have ever seen. I was looking for a great underwater DVD and until now none really impressed me. But "Coral Sea Dreaming" definitely did! Great music and even better visuals...a must-have for any nature lover. Yours faithfully, Mateja (from Slovenia) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| I have been jealous of the Home Theatre stores displaying their demo DVDs to show off their BIG SCREEN TVs. I have asked different stores at different times if it would be possible to get one of the demo discs to show off my system at home. The answer every time is "Sorry, they are not available for purchase." Coral Sea Dreaming changes all that. This DVD is as good, if not better than any demo disc I could have found. Thanks for the excellent production in both the video and the audio. --Bruce Petch | |||||||||||||||||||||||
